#ClimateWeekNYC kicks off today! This effort across NYC and around the world is helping to spark conversations and actions to help us build a better future.

Want to learn more about climate impacts on our local Hudson River environment? Check out HRPK’s SUBMERGE Marine Science Festival, held virtually on Thursday Sept 24. This annual event raises awareness and celebrates our local waterway through engaging science from environmental groups across NYC.

During the “Our Changing Waters” hour of the festival at 3:00 PM, tune in to hear from experts, learn about climate change and human impacts and start to consider solutions for a more climate-smart community. We’ll be learning from experts about various topics including critical fish habitat with @lamontearth, diamondback terrapin populations with the Jamaica Bay Terrapin Research Project and northeastern corals with @mblwoodshole.

Martice’s Bio: Before I could write, I always loved to draw and now it’s become and integral part of who I am. Eventually, my skill set would grow to include painting. As I got older, I gained an appreciation for the natural world and specifically the Hudson Valley where I grew up. Amazing wildlife, scenic landscapes, and beautiful habitats to explore is what inspires my art. Each of my pieces are a tribute and a way to immortalize my experience with the outdoors.
