For our last blog entry we have compiled a list of the top ten sea-isms that we all have contributed to and experienced out at sea.
Finally, one personal addition to the list I must add: Only at sea have I received as thoughtful and delicious of a birthday cake as the ice cream creation I was presented tonight. Starting with an oreo and butter crust, this crunchy layer is then topped with chocolate fudge and a layer of vanilla ice cream. Then comes the real kicker. The secret mouth watering addition that gets cookie monsters like myself salivating. AN ENTIRE LAYER OF COOKIE DOUGH. This gift from god is then topped with another layer of creamy vanilla and accented with strawberries and chocolate chips spelling “Happy Birthday Kelly” within the oreo-ring outer crust. It is one of those few items in life, so delicious, so heavenly, that I will always be left craving another bite. If I’d known birthdays aboard the Langseth were this delicious, I would make it a point to return every August 4th. But then again, that brings us right back to one of my earlier blog posts. It is not, in fact, the Langseth itself or being at sea – it’s all about the people.
And the people aboard the Langseth are entertaining, unique and FUN. Thank you all for an incredible birthday and even more for an unforgettable sea-going experience.
